About Sarratt Residents' Association

Sarratt Residents' Association (formerly Chandlers Cross Residents Association) has been in existence for over 20 years dedicated to serving the residents of Sarratt.

We exist to provide a clear, constructive and informed voice for the people of Sarratt. A residents association brings local people together to discuss matters that affect their community, share information, represent common concerns and work with parish, district and county bodies to help shape decisions that influence village life.  We work with the Parish Council and other adjacent residents associations to strengthen our voice on community matters.

 

Our aim is not to oppose change for the sake of it, but to ensure that any future development in Sarratt is carefully considered, properly planned and sympathetic to the rural character, heritage, landscape and community spirit that make the village such a special place to live.

 

Protecting Sarratt’s Rural Character

Sarratt is valued for its open countryside, historic lanes, green spaces, agricultural setting, footpaths, wildlife habitats and strong sense of community. These qualities are part of the village’s identity and should be protected for current residents and future generations.As pressure for new housing and development increases across Hertfordshire, it is more important than ever that local residents have a well-organised, balanced and evidence-led voice.

 

The Association will work to ensure that development proposals are assessed against the needs of Sarratt, including local infrastructure, roads, drainage, schools, healthcare access, biodiversity, landscape impact, traffic, parking and the preservation of village character.

 

Shaping Sustainable Growth

Sustainable growth means meeting genuine local needs while protecting the environment, respecting local design, supporting appropriate housing, safeguarding green spaces and ensuring that roads, services and community facilities can cope.

 

Sarratt Residents' Association will encourage constructive dialogue and support policies that help the village evolve in a way that is proportionate, sensitive and locally informed. By working together, residents can help influence planning discussions, respond to consultations, raise awareness of key issues and promote outcomes that protect what is special about Sarratt while allowing for thoughtful and responsible progress.

Get Involved

Every resident has a part to play in shaping Sarratt’s future, and every resident is automatically a member of Sarratt Residents Association. Whether you are concerned about planning, traffic, green spaces, public rights of way, community facilities or the long-term sustainability of the village, your voice matters.

 

Our work is supported through donations, which help us share information, respond to consultations, raise awareness and represent the interests of the community.
